Hi, My name is Sixto Sanchez. My love for photography began with a simple gift — a camera placed in my hands by my father. That act of generosity sparked a lifelong journey behind the lens, one that led me straight to the action of a local baseball game at a young age, shooting for a community newspaper and never looking back.
Today, I work as a freelance photographer specializing in sports photography, where every frame tells the story of athletes at their most authentic — raw, focused, and alive. I am driven by a deep passion for pursuing the decisive moment — that precise, unrepeatable instant where emotion, action, and meaning converge into a single image.
It is the striker's eyes locked on goal a half-second before boot meets ball, the crowd already rising and then the eruption, pure euphoria frozen in time. It is the stillness of a triathlete standing at the water's edge before the starting horn sounds, every muscle coiled, every thought distilled into a single focused breath with the weight of months of preparation visible. And it is the moment a championship trophy is lifted overhead — that overwhelming rush of exhaustion, relief, and triumph all colliding at once.
What I treasure most about this craft is the interaction and camaraderie it creates. Photography has always been about people for me. Every shoot is a collaboration, and every subject deserves to be seen at their best. The goal is simple - to show how remarkable these athletes truly are.
Currently you'll find me covering scholastic sports with Manhasset High School, Stockton Photo, Axcess Sports and at NYSPHSAA State Championship events.
